Lockdown Nursery Challenges

Summer term

This will be the final set of challenges to allow for you all to have a lovely time doing the last two challenges and then have a fabulous summer holiday. I really hope you have found these challenges useful and the children have enjoyed them.

If you are not in nursery at the moment, please stay safe, enjoy the summer and remember we miss you very much and are very much looking forward to seeing you again in September.

So enjoy these last ones, please send me some final pictures and let me know how you all are.

Treasure hunt

 

What is the first letter of your name? What sound does it make?

Can you go around your home and find things that have the same first sound as your name?

Print and signs in our environment

 

When you go for a walk or go out in the car/on the bus.

 

Be a detective! Can you find any signs that you know? What do they say? Can you find any letters you know in street signs?

 

 

In nursery today we made kites to fly in the wind. Can you make one?

 

Choose what shape you would like your kite to be.

Cut it out

Make a hole in the bottom

Thread some string through and ask a grown up to help tie it.

Go and have fun flying your kite.

Numerals

Can you practice writing your numbers?

Can you draw the correct amount of circles/dots/sticks etc… for that numeral?

 

Please google – communication4all website and then look for the numeral formation rhyme cards- these are the cards we use at nursery.

Can you catch/throw/bounce a ball or beanbag?

 

Can you balance them on your head? Which is easier?

 

 

 

 Weather

 

We have had some lovely sunny weather and now we have rain and windy weather! Find out all you can about the different types of weather.

Read the story of Dear Zoo like I did. What animal is your favourite? Which one would you like as a pet? Which one do you dislike? Why?

Pick your favourite animal from the story and then choose how to create them! Can you make it out of junk modelling? Painting? Collage?

Collect up all of your stuffed and cuddly toys in the entire house. Can you count them all? How many do you have altogether?

 

Can you sort them into groups? Type of animal? Where they live? How many do you have in each group?

Go for a walk

Can you look spot any animals on your walk? What kind of animals are they? Do they fly? Swim? Walk? What do they eat? Do they come out during the day or at night?

 

Moving

Can you move like different types of animals? Can you move like an elephant? Can you slither like a snake? Can you creep like a cat? Can you buzz like a fly?
