A warm welcome from Helping Hands!

Who are we?

We are a charity run by a group of elected parents and teachers who voluntarily work together to provide an opportunity for parents and carers to become more involved with the school and to help raise funds which we use to enhance the experiences of all children within the school. We finance and provide activities, equipment and experiences for the children, which could not otherwise be allowed for within the constraints of a normal school budget. We work very closely with the school to ensure that the money we raise is spent to benefit all of our children.

What do we do?

We organise several events throughout the year with a strong focus on having fun! These events are a great way to meet other parents and make new friends whilst supporting the school. Our events vary from year to year but our most successful events have included our Christmas and Summer Fairs, School Discos, Year Six Leaver activities, Cake Sales, Dress-up Days, Competitions and so much more. These events have always been very popular but we are always looking to vary what we do and we always welcome new suggestions and fresh ideas

How will I find out about events?

Each term, we will send out a newsletter which details our plans for the upcoming term. We will then update you with the specific details of our events nearer the time. These letters are always sent home with your children so checking their book bags on a regular basis is a must! You can also keep in touch by liking our Facebook page, following us on Twitter or by emailing us at

How do I get involved?

Now that your child is joining our school, you automatically become a member of Helping Hands and we, the organisers, (or elected committee), answer to you. If you would like more information about how you can get involved, please email us at

We look forward to meeting you,
Carrie Jamieson
Chair of Helping Hands
