Curriculum Overview
Our aim at Stimpson Avenue Academy is to provide a curriculum which:
- is innovative and challenging;
- demonstrates a clear progression from EYFS through to Year 6;
- encourages and values enquiry, creativity, problem solving and independence;
- engages and motivates pupils;
- is inclusive and accessible to all of our learners;
- creates a sense of enjoyment and a thirst for knowledge;
- provides our learners with the skills they will need to become critical thinkers of the future.
Our well-developed curriculum is underpinned by the statutory National Curriculum and the EYFS Framework. We enhance and adapt this with well-planned opportunities that make up the wider school curriculum. Our curriculum approach is knowledge-engaged; we focus on developing knowledge and skills across the curriculum. We review and revisit skills and knowledge regularly and develop our learners to become resilient and reflective.
At Stimpson, we offer a well-planned curriculum, delivered by dedicated staff in an ethos of care and support, which is centred around our core values. Our curriculum provides our pupils with the necessary life skills to be able to make a valuable contribution to wider society.
