Pupils at Stimpson Avenue Academy will all have the opportunity to take part in a fun run in the school playground to raise money for charity over the coming weeks.
Our chosen charity is Northampton Town FC Community Trust.
On Thursday 25th May EYFS and KS1 will participate in our first fun run. Damon Fox and Clarence the Dragon will be joining us from NTFC Community Trust as part of his running challenge called Covering the Distance. He is aiming to cover 750km over twelve weeks by visiting primary schools across #Northampton. Money raised from this will go towards helping the 7,500 children in poverty in Northampton.
On Tuesday 6th June KS2 will be joined by Shona McCallin GB Hockey, MBE, who is a GB and Olympic hockey player who has won medals at Rio (Gold) and Tokyo (Bronze) for our second fun run event called the Olympic Torch Relay. This event is hosted by our Trust, East Midlands Academy Trust.
On the day of both events we will be holding a whole school non-uniform day with pupils wearing their own sports clothing and making a voluntary contribution of £1 towards the NTFC Community Trust.
There is also an optional sponsorship form. The pupil that collects the most sponsorship will receive a NTFC shirt and some other goodies. This form will need to be returned to the school office in a sealed envelope with money enclosed on either of the fun run days.
