Parents, pupils and visitors came together for a celebration assembly on Friday to honour the school's winners in the recent East Midlands Academy Trust Awards.
The awards were held to recognise the efforts and contributions of pupils and staff across the Trust's seven schools.
The winners from Stimpson Avenue Academy were:
- Hollie and Katie Enefer - Inspirational Pupil of the Year. The two sisters encapsulate their school’s core values as ambassadors and role models while also helping to make a difference outside of school in their local community by doing litter picks.
- Fay Parker - Teacher of the Year. Fay is described as ‘outstanding’ in her approach to her work. She has supported a pupil with anxiety issues and, through her calm and caring attitude, has helped this child to settle in well and make friends.
- Tina Berlingieri - Support Staff Member of the Year. Tina won in recognition of her work to provide vital support to pupils and parents who are sometimes struggling with the challenges of life. Her commitment to the children is described as ‘second to none’
- Heather Jakeman - Volunteer of the Year. Heather works as a lunchtime supervisor but also gives up her own time to raise vital funds for the school. She has organised a range of events including cake sales, raffles and school fairs to raise money for play equipment, books and other items to improve the resources available to pupils.
